QA Lead (m/w/d)

Kalypso Media Group is an independent publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software with more than 200 employees at a total of ten locations in Germany, England, France, the USA and Japan. Five of the Group's development studios in Germany and France, together with other international games developers, ensure a steady stream of new computer and video games for all modern premium platforms, such as the world-famous "Tropico" series, "Commandos" and "Railway Empire".

To strengthen our team at our subsidiary the Claymore Game Studios GmbH in Darmstadt (Germany), we are looking for a QA Lead (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a QA team and guide them in building and executing the right QA test cases
  • Conduct all relevant meetings, like QA stand-up, 1on1s and regular employee appraisals
  • Define Testcases for QA to work on by syncing with all departments as well as all stakeholders to gather all the needs of the team as well as the project quality needs
  • Support the test phases with own active testing
  • Work self-driven by knowing what is the most important action to achieve a certain quality and a bug free game
  • Improve the skillset and abilities of the QA team members constantly
  • Making builds and distributing them for external and internal purposes
  • Align with external QA Studios on best practices and our workflows and ticket requirements

Qualification

  • Experienced in the test process and test cycles for video games
  • Worked on the quality assurance of 3+ shipped game titles
  • Good understanding of the certification processes for consoles and stores
  • Able to work with UE5 in an environment using Perforce and Horde
  • Good technical understanding of the development pipeline and target platforms
  • Well versed in reading out and analyzing crash logs
  • Experience in writing test cases and test plans
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Good understanding of the Scrum framework and what it means to work agile
  • Knowledge in Release Management: Build creation, distribution, testing and release on target platform
  • Very well structured, thorough and organized person
