UI/UX Designer

Kalypso Media Group is an independent publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software with more than 200 employees at a total of ten locations in Germany, England, France, the USA and Japan. Five of the Group's development studios in Germany and France, together with other international games developers, ensure a steady stream of new computer and video games for all modern premium platforms, such as the world-famous "Tropico" series, "Commandos" and "Railway Empire".

To strengthen our team at our subsidiary the Claymore Game Studios GmbH in Darmstadt (Germany), we are looking for a UI/UX Designer (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Create concepts, prototypes, user flows, mockups and UI/UX documentation for existing and new features
  • Design UI and Menu layers in tools like Figma
  • Implement the proposed designs in UE5 in collaboration with the tech department
  • Create the required graphics for UI elements
  • Communicate with art and tech to collaborate on more evolved assets and implementations
  • Communicate and discuss UI concepts with your team lead
  • Have an eye on the games overall UI/UX and highlight potential issues
  • Use the data from usability testing to refine the designs
  • Proactively propose and evaluate design improvements

Qualification

  • Good understanding of UI/UX principles
  • Strong visual design skills, capable of creating mockups with tools like Figma
  • Experience in creating and implementing UI assets in UE5
  • Ability to create graphical assets for the proposed UIs
  • Experienced in the creation of design documentation and communicating the requirements and goals to the team
  • Good verbal and written language skills in English, German is a plus
  • Problem-solving attitude and the ability to quickly familiarize with new technical skills
  • Passion for games and game development
  • Prior experience in the gaming industry
